Exam and Assessment Results
Congratulations to Year 11 students who received their GCSE results for 2023.
Students at Fernhill School are celebrating after receiving their GCSE results, enabling them to embark on the next stage of their education journey.
The school continues to build on the successes of last year with more students achieving 5 or more GCSE grades at 4 or above. Student performance in the core subject areas continues to make year on year progress. More students are now achieving higher grades in Maths and English compared to 2022 and 2019. The percentage of students achieving grades 4+ or 5+ in Maths, English and Science has improved from 2022, and also from 2019.
Achievements were celebrated across the school, with some of the standout individual highlights including:

Kian and Simon who achieved 3 grades 9 and 8
Supporting our students to ‘be the best they can be’ has helped raise expectations and Fernhill has seen an increase in students achieving the highest grades of 9 and 8, compared to a decrease reported nationally.
We are particularly pleased with the improvement in student performance in History, Science, Music and English Literature.
We would like to wish all our leavers the very best as they move onto sixth form, apprenticeships or employment, and to our Head Boy Taylor who has secured his place at the prestigious Eton College to study A Levels.
Fernhill School is currently at an exciting stage as it moves towards conversion to academy status and transfer into the Bohunt Education Trust (BET) family of schools. BET is a high achieving trust, committed to an ethos of ‘enjoy respect achieve’.
